Hi Friday, so good to see you!

Hola amigos!  How are you today?  Any big weekend plans?  I am pretty happy it is Friday.  I feel like this past week has been a long one, and I am looking forward to some downtime this weekend.

Before we get to the weekend though, I wanted to share some of my favorites from this week with you.

I am totally in love with these super bright workout tanks that my mom snagged me.  They are so fun.  Also, I have been doing a lot of Zumba and Turbokick recently, and they seem perfect for it.


I also had the most delicious Acai bowl earlier this week.  I haven’t been doing smoothies really while on Whole30, mainly just to follow their recommendations (smoothies are allowed, but not recommended), but I had really been craving one and decided to give it a go.  This was an acai smoothie packet, blended up with coconut water and frozen banana.  I added a blob of almond butter and a sprinkle of unsweetened coconut on top.  It was so delicious.  The picture really doesn’t do it justice (my kitchen is dim and it was dark out).

On the workout front it has been a nice variety this week, today is my third day teaching, and I have actually done quite a bit of strength work/lifting along with my class this week.  I also got in a Zumba class Monday, Turbokick on Wednesday and some much needed yoga last night.  Tuesday I took as a rest day, and I mean REST, I went to bed right after the babies and was out by 8:00PM.  It was glorious.

This weekend I am looking forward to some early birthday celebrations for the hubs, his actual birthday is next week.  We have a hangout/play date planned with a friend on Saturday and I have book club on Sunday.  You may recall me mentioning book club last weekend, I am actually in two.  Sadly, I have not read the book for either of them this month, book club fail!  Usually I do manage to read them in time.

My book club has a little bit of a hiatus this summer, so I am looking for some books on my own to read.  I stumbled across this list that has some intriguing ones.

Since I kind of failed on the reading the book part, I am hoping to bring it on the snack part.  This book club is potluck style, and the ladies in it always make the most delicious goodies.  I am thinking of trying my hand at making some vegan cheese.  I was inspired by this macadamia nut cheese from the Minimalist baker.  I will let you know how it turns out if I do.

Last but not least, here are a couple of things that had me laughing this week.

Who doesn’t whisper sweet nothings to their nut butter of choice.

    I’ve been meaning to hop on the acai smoothie bowl bandwagon too; I’ve never had one but they always look so good!

    1. They are such a simple and delicious treat. I think they are great blended with banana or pineapple, and coconut water or almond milk for the liquid. If you are making a bowl they can really be topped with anything that’s speaking to you. Hope you have a great weekend!

  2. I love me some peanut butter too–I eat it in some shape or form at least once a day! I LOVE bright workout clothes too–can’t wait to get back in to that stuff post baby!

  3. Cute tops! I think I might have the same yellow one. I miss taking Zumba. I used to go 3-4 times a week in college but then moved and simply don’t care for the style of instructing all the teachers at my current gym have. That class is FUN, though!

    1. Thanks! The first time I wore the yellow one, the hubs was joking that he needed shades, I love it though. I had always been hit or miss about Zumba in the past, but I just love this instructor. Hope you have a great weekend!

  4. Did you buy frozen acai? I really need to learn to make them at home! I love that you’re in a book club! I need to find out where to join one (I recently moved). So fun! And would keep me accountable on my reading goals! Haha

    1. Hey! Yeah, I buy the smoothie pouches of it. They sell them at some of the grocery stores, they are cheapest at Costco though, if you have one near you. I love book club, I end up reading more and reading things I wouldn’t normally pick for myself. Sometimes there are community ones hosted by local bookstores and libraries.
