Hey there! How’s your week going? It has been a long one over here, super busy at work, early rising kiddos, lots of coffee has been needed. But, now that we have made it to Thursday, my eyes are on the prize and I am ready for some down time this weekend!
I had mentioned last weekend that I had made a bacon date appetizer for my book club. It had been a while since I made these and I forgot how delicious these are!
I love the sweet and salty combo. These are the perfect party food, as they can be made ahead, are best at room temperature and only require two ingredients!
If you are feeling fancy, you can always make them three ingredients by adding a stuffing to the date. I have made these stuffed with gorgonzola, as well as goat cheese before, and both options were awesome. I feel like bacon is always a crowd pleaser, and what dad doesn’t like a little bacon? Father’s Day appetizer anyone?
Bacon Wrapped Dates
- 1 package bacon
- 24-32 dates (depending on how many slices of bacon you have)
Directions: Preheat oven to 425. Slice bacon in half.
Wrap each date in a slice of bacon and place on a sheet pan with the bacon edge down, so it does not unravel. Once all the dates are wrapped, put in the oven to bake. Bake for 15-18 minutes, cooking time will vary depending on thickness of the bacon. Flip once during baking, so that it cooks evenly. Once cooked, take out and place the dates on a paper towel lined plate to cool.
Enjoy once cooled, leftovers can be stored in the fridge.
