Friday favorites

Happy Friday my lovelies! How has your week been? It has been pretty good over here, all the usual work and baby stuff. Plus the hubs and I have been trying to make the most of the little chunk of time between when the kids go to bed and when we go to bed to work on projects around the house.  It has been a fun week, but busy, I feel like I have been running from the moment I got up to the moment I hit the hay.

While it was a busy week, there was still time for a few favorites.  Some of my favorites from this week have included:

These homemade bars, styled after my beloved blueberry Rx Bars. I know I shared the recipe yesterday, but I have had one every day this week, so it has definitely been a fave.

On the food front, we have also been working on this ridiculously large bar of dark chocolate the hubs picked up at Trader Joe’s.  It is good chocolate, and I have been pretty good about only indulging in a little square or two at a time.

On the kid front, we have reached an age where they are both little chatter boxes, so I have near hourly favorite things they say.  But one thing that really had me smiling this week was my three-year old telling me he “needs to clean his room” while trying to delay bedtime. It’s hard to say no to that, well-played son.

On the workout front, I have been enjoying a variety of activities this week.  I have been quasi following a Barre3 challenge, as well as the Summer Shape Up while mixing in my own stuff. I am really enjoying the variety right now.  Also, filling in the little calendar has been kinda fun for me.

Around the web I have been really enjoying Edge of Humanity Magazine, which is a site I stumbled across a few months ago and offers a peek into various groups, movements, cultures, etc.  they have had some really moving pieces recently and I feel like I learn something new every time I visit the site

I have also loved all the online workout suggestions you guys shared this week. I am really looking forward to trying some of them out in the near future!

What has been one of your favorites for the week?  What are you looking forward to this weekend?  We have a kiddo birthday party and play date to attend, but no other real plans.

Hope you have a great weekend!

  2. I have loved Tone It Up. I signed up for the free version currently. They send weekly emails with daily workouts and some meal suggestions. I really have liked it. One of these days I’ll pay for the full, but until free is free!
