August Coffee Date

Happy hump day!  I really enjoyed our last coffee date, so I thought I would bring it back every month or so.  Ready to catch up?  Grab your drink of choice, I will be having iced coffee and a leftover cookie (or two), and let’s visit!

If we were having coffee right now, I would want to know how you have been?  I would also apologize if I have been a little MIA the last few days.  I really pride myself on staying in touch and getting back to people quickly, but the last few days have been a whirlwind, and I have pretty much been running around trying to stay on top of things any time there wasn’t a sick preschooler in my lap. I would also tell how grateful I am that he is starting to feel better.  It was so hard seeing him sick.

I would also probably tell you how shocked I am that it is already August.  I know everyone tells you that time will just fly the older you get, but I seriously feel like it was April and I turned around and it was all of a sudden August.

What trips did you take this summer?  I had my Denver trip in July, which was a blast!  But we haven’t ventured away as a family so far this summer.  I am trying to rectify that though and am super looking forward to some family adventures in the coming several weeks!  We will be spending a weekend in the mountains soon, and are also planning a little San Diego getaway.

If we were having coffee, I would probably tell you about OrangeTheory and how it is kicking my butt in the best possible way.  I feel bad saying it because I feel like as a fitness instructor my motivation should always be good, but I have a hard time pushing to build endurance on my own.  I am totally motivated by being able to see my heart rate and being in the group environment, so I think OrangeTheory will really help me develop and increase my endurance.  I would probably also mention that you do get to try out a free class, and see if you might want to join me sometime. 😉

I would want to hear all about how your day-to-day life is going.  How’s work?  How’s school?  How are the kids?  The doggies? I feel like we are all just getting busier and busier, and it is so nice to be able to connect over the usual day to day stuff.   I would tell you that I am just in awe of how big my babies are getting.  It is thrilling to watch them grow into themselves and become more independent.  At the same time, it tugs at my momma heart knowing they will never be my tiny little squishes again.  I’d probably also ask if you had any budget friendly suggestions for a two-year-old’s birthday party?  The little miss’ birthday will be here soon.

Since we are having coffee, I might ask if you have tried the new horchata frappuccino?  I haven’t and frappuccinos are not my jam, but I do have a sweet spot for horchata.  If you have tried it, is it a worthy indulgence?

So tell me friends, what new in your life?  What would you tell me over coffee?

Hope you have a great day!

    1. Orangetheory is a type of workout were you aim for target heart rate zones, it is a combination of treadmill, rowing and weight exercises. Horchata is kind a or a regional drink, it is cold and sweet and made with rice and cinnamon. Hope you have a great time with your friend!

  2. Work has been slow and blah recently so hopefully it’ll pick up. I really want to start incorporating body weight workouts into my routine too so that’s what I plan on figuring out this week.
    Have a great day 🙂

Not too much is new in my life. I got my boot off of my broken foot which is exciting! Otherwise, work has been super busy but good. Also trying to quit the mindless snacking over here!

  6. I’m not a huge fan of horchata but I do like frappuccinos. So who knows, maybe I would! My little man has been sick too which sucks but I think we are on the mend!
