Yeah for Friday! Favorites from the week

You guys, we made it to Friday!!!!! How are you today? Did you have a good week?  It’s been high and lows over here. My little guy is feeling better (thank you for your well wishes), but we are all a bit worn out and ready for the weekend.

It has also been a reflective week for me.  I have been sticking to my goal of meditating 5 minutes a day, which I have been enjoying.  I have also been trying to be more mindful and in tune with what my body is telling me.  This week that has meant resting a bit more than usual and enjoying some gentle yoga.  Aside from teaching my class, I did get in a couple shorter cardio sessions as well, and one sweaty Orangetheory last night.  Which definitely helped me de-stress a bit.

Now, on to some favorites for the week!  This week I have been enjoying some Blue Apron meals.  With all the chaos between weird schedules and babies getting sick this week, it was nice to have everything for dinner all ready to go.  The salmon with udon noodles was my favorite of the three.

I also was able to enjoy lunch with an old friend this weekend.  I hadn’t seen her in a while and it was nice to catch up.  We went to Corner Bakery, which I always love.  I got my usual salad but went with soup instead of a sandwich this time.  It was pretty good, but I think I prefer the sandwiches I’ve tried.  The salad was as delicious as ever.

My mom also gifted me these awesome wine glasses this week.  I am totally enamored with them and am loving my growing Dia de los Muertos collection.

I was also pretty excited about getting a new bag of Vega for pretty much free!  I had shared my Amazon Nutrition & Wellness Sample Box I ordered a few weeks ago and bought this with the credit from that sample box.

Around the internets, I really enjoyed Maureen’s library post.  It really drove home to me how cost saving the library can be.  I frequent my community library, and will definitely continue to do so.

I shared this Mommy Owl meme on Instagram earlier this week, but it is still cracking me up.  So, so relatable.

This weekend I am looking forward to a special momma-son outing with my dude.  We are going to see The Little Mermaid musical.  I am SO excited, I was a huge Little Mermaid fan when I was little.  I think the hubs and I are also going to try to squeeze in a little day date, which will be nice.

Now your turn.  What is one of your favorites from the week?  Any plans for the weekend?

Hope you have a great weekend!

  1. I’m glad your son is feeling better. Thank you for the shout out 🙂 You’re so sweet and I’m glad you really enjoyed that post! While I haven’t seen The Little Mermaid musical, I have never seen a Disney musical that was disappointing so I’m sure this one won’t be either.

    1. I have been using a 5 minute guided meditation from yoga studio. Which is a free app. Eventually I’d like to meditate more on my own, but for now I am liking the guided. I usually sit in a quiet spot of my living room. This particular yoga studio one has you laying down, but I usually sit instead.

  2. I’m interested in how you like that Vega protein, it sounds tasty for sure. Libraries are where I spent my summer vacations in Phoenix from Kindergarten until I left for college, they’re like a second home for me wherever I go. 🙂

    1. Are you in Phoenix!!! I am in Tucson. I spent a lot of time in libraries during the summer as well, Southern AZ is definitely a hide indoors or go swimming during the summer kind of place. Hope you have a great weekend!

      1. I was born and raised in Phoenix but I’ve been in the Pacific Northwest for almost 10 years now. Honestly the only way to survive is to spend as tittle time as possible anywhere outdoors for half the year there! Books were perfect for that for sure. 🙂

  3. The Little Mermaid Musical sounds like so much fun! Hope everyone is feeling better and you guys have a restful weekend!

  4. TGIF is right! This week has felt sooo long! I love the Vega line! When I was first breastfeeding in my daughter’s infancy, I had to cut out all dairy. I tried a lot of dairy free shakes to help me keep up my calories and the ones by vega were so good! There were some others…not so tasty!

    1. I feel ya, I am glad the weekend is upon us. I really like the Vega line as well. I like the taste of the smoothie ones the best, but really like the nutrition of the Vega One mix. Hope you have a great weekend!

  5. Oh I love Corner Bakery and those wine glasses! My favorite thing from this week is Trader Joe’s frozen corn dogs! I bought them last Saturday and one day this week I didn’t feel like cooking, so I made them. SO GOOD!
