Hey, friends! How is it already Monday! I feel like this weekend just blew by.
How was your weekend? We had a pretty good one. On Saturday I was up early for some errands and then off to teach my class. After class, I came home to get the dude and I ready for our theater date, which was definitely a highlight of the weekend. We went to see the Broadway touring version of The Little Mermaid. The Little Mermaid was my favorite movie as a kid and it was so fun to share this experience with my little guy.
He absolutely loved the first act, got a bit antsy during intermission and then slept through the entire second act (he missed his nap because of the start time). Which was fine, because I got to snuggle him in close and reminisce while watching the rest of the show.
I also got a bonus workout in, because I then carried my 40 some pound dude a block to our car.
After the show, we went to my moms to pick up the little miss and have dinner, before heading home for the evening. Saturday evening was pretty uneventful. The hubs worked so I watched some old 30 Rock episodes on Netflix and did a little baking. I finally got the veggie blueberry muffins I have been working on how I wanted them, so recipe later this week.
Sunday morning, my in-laws watched the kids for a couple of hours so the hubs could help me with some picture stuff and we could enjoy a quick breakfast date. The weather was beautiful, not too warm and clear skies, so perfect for taking pictures outside. We stumbled across this lovely little group of sunbathers. It’s hard to tell, but there were like 5 or 6 of them on the log and more in the water.
We then went for breakfast. I usually eat a little something pretty early but hadn’t today, so I was starving by the time we sat down. We went to Poco and Mom’s, which is an old favorite of ours specializing in New Mexico style Mexican food. The lunch menu was speaking to me, so I got machaca tostadas with beans and fruit instead of rice. You guys, this was so much food. It ended up being my breakfast, as well as the kids and I’s lunch.
The hubs’ breakfast sopapilla and hash browns were also huge, but he gave it a good home.
After breakfast, we made a quick Target run before picking up the kids and heading home. The rest of Sunday was nice and relaxed. We played with the kiddos and tag teamed chores. I also struck a deal with my three-year-old that if he put his toys away, I would let him vacuum the rug. It was a truly wonderful parenting moment.
I was able to get in a super quick and sweaty at home workout during nap time, followed by some much-needed stretching. I don’t know if it was from carrying my dude so far the day before or what, but my back and shoulders were super tight.
I was also excited to finally receive my Fabfitfun box this weekend. I say finally because I expected it to arrive at the very beginning of the month. What did you do this weekend? Do you like lunch/dinner foods for breakfast? I love all the traditional breakfast foods, but if we go to a Mexican restaurant for breakfast I will almost always order off the lunch menu.
