Happy hump day friends! Hope your day is off to a great start!
I always love day in the life posts. It is interesting to see what other people’s lives are like and I feel like it allows you to get to know them better. So today, I thought I would take you through a day in my life. This was last Friday and is a fairly typical day for me.
4:00am Alarm goes off, I hit snooze. When it buzzes again at 4:08 I get up and turn on the coffee. I then lay in bed and catch up on social media and blogs for a bit.
4:30am Time to actually get up. I pour a cup of coffee and add a splash of unsweetened vanilla almond milk and a scoop of collagen. Then head to the bathroom to start getting ready for the day.
5:00am Mogs wakes up, so I let him out and wake up the hubs so he can start getting ready. I take a break for meditation while he is in the shower. This is my favorite time to meditate. The house is quiet and I feel like it helps me set a positive tone for the day.
6:00am Off to teach Total Body. I had a great group today and really enjoyed teaching class. I am always amazed by how fun and energetic my early morning folks are. Also, repped my alma mater.
11:30 Take a break to do a 25-minute elliptical workout and read a bit. My office has a gym in it, which is awesome! I hadn’t had time to work out at lunch all week, but was able to squeeze in a little workout today. I also enjoyed this book a lot more than I expected. It reminds me a lot of Michael Crichton’s writing style. So if you liked Jurassic Park, check it out.
12:00 Lunchtime! I almost always eat at my desk but ended up sitting and eating with co-workers, which was a nice treat. On the menu was leftover cauliflower fried rice with pork and a Kimchi potsticker.
2:00 Quick treat break, these were leftover from a function and were so delicious and chocolatey.
5:00 Baby dinner time. I normally eat dinner with them but wasn’t feeling ready for a meal. I snacked on some chips and salsa with them though. I also tried to eat this yogurt, but only got a couple bites in before my little sidekicks took it over.
5:00-6:30pm Enjoyed a lovely relaxed evening with the babies. The hubs had to work late, so the babies and I hung out, played and read some books. We did have a bit of a baby crisis when Paw Patrol wouldn’t play but recovered pretty quickly. Whenever they get upset about not being able to watch a show, in my mind I always think “in my day we had to wait till Saturday morning for our favorite cartoons.” It is crazy how quickly things change.
6:30-7:30pm Baby bedtime, the little miss goes to sleep pretty quick. My little dude needs plenty of books and stories to help him get settled in.
7:30-8:00ish Retuck a little dude into bed another 5 times. While wishing I had eaten dinner earlier as I am now starving.
8:00 Dinner and Netflix time
9:30pm Off to bed.
Overall, this is a pretty normal looking Friday for me. I usually eat dinner earlier though. I had also planned on having a friend and her newborn over in the evening, but with the babies having been sick that week, we thought it best to reschedule.
Are you an early morning person? Do you typically take a break for meals or eat at your desk/on the go/while doing other stuff? I know it would be good for me to take a real meal break, but I almost never do.
