Happy hump day! How is your week treating you?  I had not shared a day in eats in a while, so I thought a “What I Ate Wednesday” was in order.  This is actually from Monday.  It is still highs in the upper 90s here in southern AZ, so I have been enjoying fall flavors in cold forms: smoothies, yogurt, etc. While they are tasty,  I am hoping to move towards more yummy fall baked goods soon.

Monday started with a large iced coffee.  I have recently been drinking hot coffee most days, but we had some cold coffee already made, and it was quite refreshing.

An hour or so later I had some cheese and crackers to get me through class.

I brought breakfast to eat at work after class, so I went with easy to pack things. A veggie blueberry muffin, hard-boiled eggs, and strawberries.  A word on the strawberries, I bought a two-pound container of them at Costco, below is all I ate of them, the babies demolished the rest.  They were some perfect strawberries.

Mid-morning, I snacked on a pumpkin pie yogurt and an apple.  I used the yogurt as a dip for the apple, it was delicious!

I needed an on the go lunch, so I grabbed this Pumpkin Protein smoothie from Jamba Juice.  It was really good and had 23 grams of protein.

Later in the afternoon, I was craving a sweet treat, so I had a couple of chocolates with clementines and a ginger Kombucha.  It was a great little pick me up.

For dinner, we had leftovers from the night before.  I had two chicken tacos, calabacitas, pinto beans and brown rice.  It was delicious, I could eat Mexican food pretty much every day and be happy (also, I had more of these leftovers for lunch on Tuesday in bowl form, so I pretty much have had it every day).

I went to a later Orangetheory class and needed something after.  So I had a scoop of Vega smoothie with water and a handful of Reese’s Puffs.  I know Reese’s Puffs are probably not the best post workout choice but have you ever had them?  They are tasty!

So there you have it, a day in eats!  Looking back, I would prefer to have gotten in some more veggies. Tuesday was a more veggie-heavy day though, so I like to think it all kind of balances over the course of the week.

Had any good eats recently?  Do you normally eat three bigger meals a day, or do you prefer smaller ones?  I don’t like working out on a full stomach but need a little something pre-workout, so I tend to eat smaller meals throughout the day.

  1. Yum, your food looks delicious! (Question – what camera do you use for your pics? I need all the help I can get!)
I usually snack all day, I’m more of a grazer and like lots of small meals throughout the day.

    1. Thank you! I take almost all of my pictures with my iPhone (it is not a new one, I think a 6?). I have a digital camera, but it is old and hard to get very focused pics with. One day I hope to get a new one. I have found that taking picture near a window or natural light source makes a huge difference. My nighttime pictures are never as good.

    1. Thanks for the validation, I totally agree! Reese’s Puffs are just so tasty. Compared to the summer, 90s aren’t to bad (and humidity is low), but it definitely doesn’t scream fall, hopefully it will cool off soon.

  2. I am so jealous of your weather! Its slowly getting chilly in CT. I love that pumpkin spice flavor yogurt! I like to eat smaller more frequent meals to keep the Hangry at bay.

  3. I grew up on those Reese’s Puffs, they seriously are delicious! I’m definitely a fan of eating 3 smaller meals and 2 snacks throughout my day, probably because of how much I love eating. Getting to have 5 meals a day is just fun. 🙂

  4. Yum! Yes, I agree! Bring on the pumpkin! And I know that you had all those healthy options too, but what made me hungry was that cereal *covering my face in shame* :p

  5. Ok genius idea dipping your apple into the pumpkin yogurt! I’ll have to try that instead of my usual peanut butter/apple snack!
