Weekend Recap – Halloween fun and hubs cooked meals

Hey guys!  How was your weekend? How is it Monday already?  I feel like the weekend just flew by.  While it flew by, we did have less scheduled than we’ve had the last couple weekends, and I feel like I got to get caught up on life a little bit.

Friday kicked off with an after work/school trip to Chuck E. Cheese with a friend and her boys.  I was a little nervous about going to Chuck E. Cheese outnumbered by little guys, but we go there before the dinner crowds and our little brood was well-behaved and easy to keep track of.  After getting home, I headed to an evening Orangetheory Class, while the hubs took over bedtime routines.  The evening ended with a little TV time with the hubs and this little guy.

Saturday morning started out extra nice because the hubs let me sleep in until I woke up on my own around 6:30 (that is late in my house).  When I woke up, I was greeted by this pleasant surprise, the hubs made breakfast!

After breakfast, we hung out at home a bit before heading out for my class and our other am activities.

Most of the rest of that day was spent on chores and playing with the kiddos.  We did some serious creating with Playdoh and I gave the kitchen a good scrub down.  I also tried out grocery delivery for the first time.  Safeway was running a promotion for first time delivery with free delivery and 20 dollars off.  I think it is still available on their website if you live near a Safeway and want to try it out.  The grocery delivery was great, I was a little concerned about how the produce would look because I tend to be very particular when picking out produce.  But they followed all my requests and everything was just as I would have selected it.

It was just me Saturday evening, so after the babies were tucked in, I enjoyed a face mask and watched the first two episodes of Stranger Things season 2 (so good).

Sunday morning, was a bright and early Orangetheory to finish up my 5th/last Hell Week workout. It was a fun but hard one, and I was a sweaty happy mess by the end.  I feel like I earned my shirt.

I also earned this breakfast after.  I love sautéed cabbage. I also think it is awesome with eggs, though I’m alone in my house on this one. Both the kids and the hubs turned their noses at my breakfast.

The rest of the am was spent at home, hanging out and doing chores.  During nap time, I ran a couple of errands and couldn’t resist picking up our favorite giant pretzel for an afternoon snack to share with the babies.

Later in the afternoon, we headed out to a Halloween Carnival at Trail Dust Town, which is a local favorite and the same place we attended an Oktoberfest at a couple of weeks ago.  The kids had a wonderful time on the rides and trick or treating.

The day ended with a lovely Blue Apron meal prepared by the handsome hubs. Sorry, this is not a very good picture, but it was a delicious meal.

How was your weekend?  Do you sleep in on the weekends?  What is sleeping in for you?

Hope you have a great day!

  1. That sounds like an awesome weekend! Congrats on earning your hell week shirt:)
I don’t sleep in on weekends as I like to get my workout in before the trails become crazy!

  2. Sounds like a great weekend! Way to go completing hell week at Orangetheory. Sleeping in on the weekends for me means 6:30 or 7 am wake up. Not crazy but that’s over an hour later than normal so I’ll take it.

  3. That Blue Apron meal sure does look yummy. I also loved sauteed cabbage. One time in college, I bought a 7-lb Napa at walmart because for some reason I thought it was only $1. It was $1/lb but I bought it anyway and ate cabbage allllll week long. My poor roommates (and stomach :P). Happy Monday!

  4. So sweet that your hubby let you sleep in! I haven’t tried grocery delivery yet, but I have a feeling I will soon when the baby comes. We started stranger things season 2 last night! My hubby is obsessed, I’m still trying to get into it.

    1. It was nice of him, I really appreciated it. I don’t see the grocery delivery being an all the time thing for us, but could definitely come in handy with a new baby. I could see myself using it if the babes weren’t feeling good so they could just rest instead of having to go to the store with me. Hope you have a great day!

  5. What a delicious weekend of eats! So cute that your Hubby let you sleep in and made breakfast. I wake up around 7 no matter what time I stay up too!

  6. You are making me hungry with all of that awesome food! I’ve never tried Blue Apron but it is on my list of things to try!

  7. I FINALLY tried Orangethoery!! It was so awesome! I do not underestimate the power of a weekend night spent with a face mask and Netflix!! what a way to relax! Sleeping in for me is usually about 7:30 am! I’m working my first night shifts this weekend in a few months so I may have a different answer next week 😉

    1. Yeah!!!! I’m glad you got to try it and liked it. It really is so relaxing to throw on a facemask and chill. Good luck with the night shifts, hope you have a great week!

  8. I’m so impressed that you worked out on a Friday evening…I can barely make myself get up off of the couch on Friday lol. That breakfast your husband made looked delicious! We’re watching Stranger Things too (right now actually 🙂 , so good, but on the upper limits of scary for me, I’m a wimp!

    1. Wanting to complete the challenge was a definite Friday night motivator. Stranger Things has some scary and creepy moments for sure, there were a few episodes in the first season that freaked me out.
