Happy Friday friends!!! How has your week been? I hope it has been a good one. Overall my week has been pretty good, I attended a really interesting training earlier in the week and have been able to squeeze a little fun in here and there. The hubs has been off a little earlier than normal too.  So we have been able to eat dinner as a family more and have more bike and play time after work and school, which is always nice.

So being that it is Friday, let’s talk favorites! This week I have been loving being able to spend a little time reading. Since the last several weeks have been pretty busy, I had really only been reading my 40 Days to Personal Revolution book.  This week I finished The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**k. It was a fun read, I wouldn’t say especially profound, but entertaining and it did encourage some self-reflection. I also just started The Silent Sister, which is one of my book club books this month.

I also got to enjoy a little friend date to see The Shape of Water this week. I really liked it, it is different, but really well done and moving.  I also really enjoyed all the old show tunes in it.

I have also been loving some recent Thred Up (<-referral link, use it for $10 off your first order) spring finds. I had initially ordered two pairs of pants, two tops, and two dresses. Sadly the dresses did not fit right, but I am loving the pants and shirts.  That pink top was originally from Anthropology and was new with tags.  I got it for $14.40, score!

Online this week:

I am still cracking up over this post about What the Spice Girls Taught Me About Raising Toddlers.  Good to know I am not the only one trying to decipher what the “something” in the repeated “I want something” demands refers to.

I thought this article gave a great break down of proper plank form.

I love podcasts, and can’t wait to check out The Skinny Confidential after reading about some of Ashley’s favorite health and wellness podcasts.

All the yummy mac and cheese flavor quinoa form?  I’m in!

What are you loving this week?  Any big plans for the weekend?

Hope you have a great one!

  1. Oh we listened to The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**k on audio book while on a road trip. I agree, a few points I took away, but not much else. Have a great weekend!

    1. Thanks, hope you have a great weekend as well! It was a fun read, but it didn’t change my perceptions much.

  2. I’ve been trying to find The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**k at the library but maybe I’ll hold off on reading it.

Shape of Water is just a little too out there for me. It must have been good though considering it won the Oscar for best picture. Have a great Friday!

    1. It is a bit out there, the hubs had no interest in it at all, but I enjoyed it. Hope you have a great Friday as well!

  3. I have been thinking about watching The Shape of Water but I’m just not sure! I like the premises of the story but something about it also turns me off. Maybe I will wait till I can watch it on demand so that way I wouldn’t feel bad about walking out or being forced to watch the whole movie if I don’t like it!

  4. We like to read Lee Child books, last one we finished was Jack Reacher No Middle Name. All short stories but totally enjoyed. My daughter taught her babies and toddlers to sign. Totally saves me when they want a drink or say a cracker.

    1. It cracked me up! Hope you guys get some nice weather and can be outside. My little ones do best if they can be outside running around too.

  5. Cute clothes! You found some good stuff!
I haven’t read that book either- but sounds like it is not worth the time.
Hope you are having a good weekend.
