Weekend Recap – Sunday’s are for Farmer’s Markets

Hey friends! How was your weekend? We had a pretty great one until the end when the cooties invaded.  I feel like it has been a rough cold season.

The weekend started with pizza and park after school.  We aren’t always able to hang out after school pick up, but I always love it when we can.  It is a great way to wrap up the week.

Saturday morning started with an early Orangetheory. This one was a killer, I got more than half of my splat points during the row and weights portion, which almost never happens.  Usually, I need to get my splat points on the treadmill or it is not happening. I also got a new personal best for my 200-meter row, which I was pretty excited about.

Afterward, I taught my Saturday class and hung out with the family a bit before heading out to a bridal shower. It was great to catch up with some old friends and celebrate the bride to be. I also got to enjoy an amazing lemon cupcake, made by the groom’s very talented mother.

I also loved these little hula wine favors. How cute is that?

The evening wrapped up with a little at home happy hour with my little family. The hubs made a frozen pizza, and I had a sushi roll.   I love when we all get to relax on the porch a bit. My little lady tried sushi for the first time as well, she is not a fan but I’m glad she is open to trying new things.

Sunday morning started strong. We took a family walk and went to the farmers market, which is one of my all-time favorite Sunday morning activities. It was also such a beautiful morning for it, overcast but warm. We tried out some amazing homemade, organic chocolate and scoped out all the fresh fruits and veggies.

I then headed out to my book club brunch. Turns out, nobody read this month’s book, but brunch was still a blast! I love catching up with the ladies. The food was also awesome as well. We went to a restaurant called Augustin’s Kitchen.  I had asparagus with hollandaise and a perfectly poached egg, along with a side of toast and jam. They get their bread from Barrio Bread, which is a serious local favorite. We also shared that beautiful waffle.

After brunch, the day got a little derailed. We had plans to go to a family event that afternoon, but when the hubs texted me that our little guy had fallen asleep after complaining of a headache, I was a bit concerned. When I got home, it was obvious he was not feeling well. So I stayed home to snuggle my dude, while the hubs and the little miss were off to the event. I hate seeing him sick but was glad I could stay in and comfort him. I also got a few chores done and made some cheese enchiladas, which I had been craving recently. Hopefully, my little guy will be back to his chipper self soon.

So friends, how was your weekend? Any fun adventures?  Any tips on how to keep an under the weather little guy comfortable and happy?

Hope you have a great day!
