Happy Friday, happy St. Patrick’s eve, and happy March Madness! How are you, friends? I am writing this as my beloved Wildcats are starting their first tournament game. I love the basketball tournament. I do brackets every year, which have yet to even kind of pan out, but perhaps this is my year for accurate predictions, lol.
In the usual fashion, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on some favorites from the week. I would love to hear what you are loving too, so please play along in the comments.
First up, a little donut date with my dude. I stayed home with my little guy Monday since he was still not feeling great. By midday he seemed a little antsy, so we went on an adventure to get my emissions testing done (thrilling, I know). Afterward, we stopped to get these beautiful donuts. Sadly, he still didn’t have much of an appetite and only picked at his, but it was still some nice bonding time. The hubs and the baby girl were also pretty pleased to come home to the leftovers.
I also took the plunge and tried out Thrive Market (<referral link, get 25% off your first order) recently. I have been aware of Thrive for quite some time but hadn’t tried it because I felt like I could find most of the items I wanted for about the same price on sale at stores in my area. I just don’t have time to track sales that closely anymore though, and Thrive’s prices and convenience are great! I was amazed how quickly my order got to me. I also ordered my brother and sister-in-law a box of goodies to celebrate their new home and it was delivered to them in just a couple of days.
My Thrive order also introduced me to a new favorite lentil pasta. I love lentil pasta as it has a hearty dose of protein without needing to add meat to the dish. This pasta tasted great and didn’t have the gummy texture that some lentil or bean pasta can have. (Sorry I forgot to take a picture of it before preparing it, hence the empty box).
In workouts this week, it has been a hectic one to fit much in. I did get in an Orangetheory workout in on Monday but otherwise have been sticking to at home and lots of streaming workouts. I have had a FabFitFun (<- referral link) subscription for several months now, but finally got around to trying some of their workout videos and am loving the variety. I have tried a barre, a yoga, and a dance workout this week. I will definitely have to use their videos more often.
Around the web:
These sneaky spinach brownies seem like a great way to get an extra serving of veggies into the kids.
I gave up meat for Lent, and have been keeping an eye out for vegetarian meals that the family would also enjoy. This meatless meal plan that Julie at PB Fingers shared earlier in the week has so many great vegetarian meals on it.
Samoas are my favorite girl scout cookie. I can’t wait to try these healthy, 4 Ingredient Samoas from Eating Bird Food.
Maureen was sharing some truth with her post What is up with women’s clothing sizes.
So friends, what are you loving this week? Any big plans for the weekend and St. Patrick’s Day? We will be enjoying the holiday at home with the kids, probably eating this vegan shepherd’s pie and all the Irish soda bread.
Hope you have a great weekend!
