Happy Friday the 13th friends! How are you today? Are you superstitious about Friday the 13th? I’m not, but it does always make me feel like I should watch a horror movie, perhaps I will see if the hubs is up for watching one tonight.
This week has been a good one. I am working on being more mindful, and have been really trying to savor the good things as they occur. In true fashion, food and loved ones have been a major favorite feature (because what’s better than food with your favorite peeps?) all week long.
First up, a lovely lunch date with an old friend. I hadn’t seen her in a while and it was so nice to catch up a bit. We went to Corner Bakery, which is a favorite of mine. I had a spring salad (lots of fruit on it) with half an Italian Panini. The sandwich was ok, the salad was great, but the company was the best part.
Tuesday evening as a whole was a favorite of mine because I felt like it was that perfect little balance of doing what you need to do and what you want to do that can be oh so elusive at times. It had been a pretty meh day for me (not because of anything, just not in the best mood) and I was not looking forward to working out, making dinner or working on unpacking the boxes still in the garage. Which has been a focus of ours this week. Really what I wanted to was chill with the babies and ignore all my chores and to-dos. After consulting with the hubs, a compromise plan was made. He picked up the babies while I hit up an OTF Class, then we met for dinner at a favorite Mexican joint.
Boom, happy life balance achieved. The workout made me feel better, the babies were excited about burritos and a hibiscus margarita became a new favorite drink of mine. We even managed to tackle a little unpacking after putting the babies to bed.
I have shared my love of getting goodies and samples in the mail many times on the blog, but I don’t know if I have mentioned that Target does periodic sample boxes. You can check them out here. I recently ordered this face mask one for $7.00 and am super excited to try them all out.
As I mentioned above, I made it to Orangetheory on Tuesday, which was a great workout! I have also been doing a lot of online barre workouts through Physique 57. I have been using a trial membership and love their workouts! I don’t know that I will keep a membership, just because I prefer to workout not at home when I can, but would definitely consider it if I needed to do more workouts at home. Since it is pretty low impact and quiet, it makes for a great nap time workout. I also managed to get in some yoga last night, which was exactly the stretchy meditative self-care I needed.

Glitter on a dime shared this Chocolate frozen yogurt bark earlier this week that looks so good! I can’t wait to try it with the babies, I think they will love it!

I stumbled across these healthy peanut butter blondies on Pinterest, and can’t wait to make a batch this weekend.
So friends, what are you loving this week? Any big plans for the weekend? We are looking at a busy one, I have bachelorette party tomorrow night and we a kiddo birthday party and some other little plans, so it should be packed full of fun. Hopef,ully we can squeeze some unpacking and chores in as well lol.
